"Statuesque” was created by Marco Pelle in collaboration with Ruben Zaccaroni and the Italian Cultural Institute in Washington, DC. The production celebrates the 200th anniversary of Italian sculptor Antonio Canova's death. This series shows the bond between dance and sculpture; movement and stillness; flesh and marble.
Each week, for 10 weeks, we will share a work danced by Martina Arduino and marco agostino, Principal Dancers from Teatro alla Scala, inspired by the most famous sculptures by Italian great masters.
